A repost from last year, still relevant as ever

It’s the time of the year when thoughts run to the past to remember utter pain, bitterness, unbelief, denial, love, passion, compassion, empathy, and even hatred, borne from an aerial assault in New York, and culminating in an empty field in Somerset PA .
Certainly planes flying into buildings causing death and despair is a fate no good person would wish for anybody, but we all sit on the edge of eternity, never knowing when our last breath will be called upon to surrender. Whether it be a building, tree, a car crash, drowning, or any thousand reasons why lives are ended, it always seems worse when others kill innocent people.
If a tree fell on your brother, it would be brutal, yet understandable when seen as an accident, but when foreigners purposefully kill in the name of a god, this seems unforgiveable; at least the tree…
