Quaking in CA

Yesterday was the arrival of the long anticipated release of the Hollywood mega film, NOAH. Indeed a serious topic, but no doubt used not to advance the spiritual thought of a God in heaven, but to promote the worldliness of man and his solutions to problems in a world away from God.

I say this at very little risk, for Hollywood has a track record of predictability. How could they possibly ‘get it right’ when they think the good book is no more valuable than Aesop’s fables? How can Hollywood directors with a straight face portray Noah as a man of God, when they mock good people who actually believe in both God and Noah?

The flood of Noah’s day was an answer from a patient God that the sin of man had reached even unto heavens door. For 120 years, while the ark was a preparing, Noah preached righteousness, not that far mind you from what many do here, that there is indeed a God of heaven before Whom all men will be summoned.

The whole earth was corrupt, sin was rampant, and the patience of God would soon be exhausted. ‘Repent’ was a foreign word to such elite and learned men who had made gods of themselves. Fast forward. Men make a film depicting God as a thug, and deride His name, avoiding doing what is right in His eyes, and in the process, making merchandise of the souls of men.

So there is an earthquake in the center of this film release. Coincidence? Maybe. Maybe not. But the same God who was mocked in the days of Noah, is mocked still today. Others will make this same connection of God’s past judgment, but I will focus on the patience of God that is running out; like the sands of time in the glass, they are running out.

The movie will get awards, and man will sing his own praise for managing to leave God out, and there will be more earthquakes, but men will not see. Connection between Noah and the quake? You decide.

Wow good point! While I don’t know for sure the quake is God’s warning nevertheless I think it’s sad that in our culture thinks IT CAN NEVER BE God’s WARNING to sinners.
I’m also appalled at Christians support for this film

    • It appears from the very first quake in the scriptures, when the family of Dathan and all their belongings were gobbled up by an ‘opening’ in the earth, that yes, a message from God was given. Seems no different today, and the timing of both this quake and the film release which mocks God is interesting.

Agreed, not sure why/ how a believer would pay to see it, thus causing a spike in the ratings. I would be curious to see it, but 6 months from today, it will be free.

Since I stopped watching TV and movies decades ago, I have not seen that film. But I did read some reviews. Sounds likes they really don’t take the Bible seriously.

Today I went to an exercise facility where I work. Since it was both Easter and Sunday, it was empty. There is a TV in the place. So I tried to find something to watch while I used one of the machines. On one channel there was special on angels. That turned out to be about some some book out of the Middle Ages about demonology. Disgusted, I tried the History channel. They were playing something from their series about the Bible. The topic was the Book of Daniel. Supposedly, shortly after the death of Nebuchadnezzar, Babylon fell. Supposedly, the Bible says that when Cyrus, the King of the Medes took over Babylon, the Babylonians knew they could not fight Cyrus’ army. So they just let him in the city. Appalled, I gave up and turned off the TV.

California has been in a severe drought for a few years now. I believe it will get worse. Hollywood loves to promote the sins of homosexuality, fornication, adultery and other sins. California’s public schools teach homosexuality as some alternative lifestyle. The Lord created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve. But the reprobate mind does not care about the Lord or Scripture.

I know that the Lord uses earthquakes to warn us and to judge us.

It’s a shame what goes on in the land of the redwood forests, but God is not surprised.

And it need not take an earthquake to wake people up. There is this thing called the word of God as well as nature itself.
