The wings of time

God cannot be charged with negligence as some would care to imagine.

It is a thousand times easier to believe God created all that is; yea rather it is infinitely more logical to believe God holds all things together by His very word; than it is for a man (or woman) to believe he will live to see tomorrow.

God’s word is THAT reliable, verifiable, and truthful, whereas tomorrow is but a crapshoot.

Then again, the One who holds the key to the vaults of time, has already  gone on record regarding the certainty of all the remaining tomorrows. He knows all about them; you know nothing of them.  Like the proverbial sands in the glass, He has them counted, and our days are quickly sifting into the land of Memory.

Indeed God can be trusted with things unknown to us, as He has revealed things known and is worthy of homage Today.

The clever illusion of the perpetual five-day forecast will be removed, and time will cease. No, we do not have an endless account of days. This is a fact of nature none can deny.

Why not then bow to He whose voice nature obeys? He alone is worthy, His word is sure, and He has yesterday, today, and tomorrow covered.

The sands of time are sinking  -Anne R. Cousin  1824-1906

The sands of time are sinking,
The dawn of Heaven breaks;
The summer morn I’ve sighed for—
The fair, sweet morn awakes:
Dark, dark hath been the midnight,
But dayspring is at hand,
And glory, glory dwelleth
In Immanuel’s land.

O Christ, He is the fountain,
The deep, sweet well of love!
The streams on earth I’ve tasted
More deep I’ll drink above:
There to an ocean fullness
His mercy doth expand,
And glory, glory dwelleth
In Immanuel’s land.

O I am my Belovèd’s
And my Belovèd’s mine!
He brings a poor vile sinner
Into His house of wine.
I stand upon His merit—
I know no other stand,
Not e’en where glory dwelleth
In Immanuel’s land.

    What a lovely poem, thanks for including it. It’s so reassuring to rely on God’s word, isn’t it? That is if you believe in such things. 😉

      I’m glad you found it inspiring Naomi. she had keen insights.

      She also said:

      The Bride eyes not her garment, but her dear Bridegroom’s face;
      I will not gaze at glory but on my King of grace.
      Not at the crown He giveth but on His pierced hand;
      The Lamb is all the glory of Immanuel’s land.
