Smoke gets in your eyes…

If the rainbow so freely given by WP was on the main page of a blog, it still would have been wrong, but not as egregious as the banner provided in the ‘bedroom’ of the blog owner. That’s right, the admin. page and place that is more intimate than the blog itself. The ‘personal’ page is for the blog owners eyes only. Get it?

WP knows this, and is sending a message, not only of happiness that the new dawn is arising, and that people are becoming more ‘intellectually stable,’ but to say unashamedly that blog owners, (well certain ones anyway) are on notice. WP knows that the ones on board with the Court’s decision will not care about the violation of personal blog space.

But the rainbow! The universal symbol of ‘peace, tolerance, happiness.’ Yuck, and more yuck. It is the grand larceny and perversion of that which is good, as in the everlasting promise of God. It is HIS rainbow, taken and used to put a pretty face on decadence.

The overtness of the intrusion was no doubt met with instant disdain, and WP has played the hand of the fool.

In their ‘What’s hot?’ tag, they conveniently left out, ignored, and refused the biggest ‘hot’ story of the day. That’s right, you can read about style, fashion, animals, etc, but not one word of what people are actually talking about. A little (or a lot) bit of disingenuousness perhaps.

Here is the voice by they who agree that the rainbow banner is no big deal: ‘If you don’t like it, leave WP.’ Sure, how convenient to bid adieu to that which exposes light upon darkness. Is not this a consistent word that has been ringing since yesterday? Yep.

In another place, has offered some observations and deserved criticisms about the ‘decoration’ of her post. (Comments also excellent)  Yeah, a person who has openly no use for God, and who hates Jews, may be a tad upset if his blog was graced with a cross or the star of David.

C’mon WP, be realistic. Your brainstorming by the guys and gals has come up woefully short, and perhaps an apology may be in order.

And to those of you who may want to jump ship and listen to ‘other’ voices. Don’t. At least wait until the smoke settles. Nothing would make an unbeliever more happy than to feel elation that one more blog representing daylight has been defeated. Ugh. ‘Victory!’ they will cry, as if by losing one bloggers presence the truth of scripture will somehow be tarnished. Uh, no chance.

There is a bigger picture here which makes God’s word more relevant, and your voice is needed. Stay the course, resist the urge to bail because of a rainbow banner that is offensive. Reject the invitation by the unbeliever to ‘go away.’  You and your voice are needed. The fog will clear, the dust will settle, and hopefully the smoke will disappear.

Oh ColorStorm I so agree. We can’t jump ship now and leave the sheep to the wolf pack. Jumping ship is part of why we are where we are. It’s time to stand fast.

Yep W, anchors come in handy 😉

Each passing day reveals God’s perfection through His word. You know things have gone south when up is down, east is west, and men of God are cited as criminals.

Hm – sounds like WP is treating you like you treat me – fancy that!

  5. I am glad knowing that I was not / am not the only one who found the added rainbow banner unwelcomed–

    I was offended.

Like the proverbial thought of Switzerland, I would have hoped that places like WP, etc. could remain neutral on various legislation and bandwagons as it were. . .let those who agree with such write as such and may those who disagree be afforded the same courtesy.

    A novel thought courtesy.

I certainly understand standards, rules and the fact that bloggers should maintain a sense of decorum, decency and respect—of which I have seen lacking in various commentary circles—

A blog. . . a place to ponder, share, document, console, proclaim, espouse. . .
not a place to be swept into a basket by the host. . .

The fact of the matter remains that I did not appreciate the added show—
Opinions and faith and beliefs use to be something we afforded and valued in each individual—we may not always have agreed, but we allowed folks to have those intrinsic pieces of the individual psyche—now it’s as it we are being told that everyone better get on the same bandwagon or you will be punished. . .

I must let the dust settle and see where I go from here. . .

Yea julie, an unusual encroachment to see the banner; I was immediately struck with the impropriety, and it seems it is justified.

The fact the ‘story’ was not listed in WP hot topics was pretty lame; I’m thinking a majority dissented.

      Settle that dust! 😉

The process operates on the basis of majority rules. Read a non-fiction book once in a while —

For God’s sake, try to read without your pre-conceived bias to attack without even seeing context.

‘………..the majority dissented………….’ REGARDING WP bloggers, and the distaste for the RAINBOW banner, ‘I’m thinking the majority dissented……………..’

I don’t suppose you would be willing to apologize for your myopia and rush to judgment.

Please do yourself a favor, and take a break from posting; you have sent three comments while I am typing this; the trolling is weary.

  6. Good words, Colorstorm. Thanks for the mention, too. Smoke in your eyes reminds me of that old song, “Smoke on the water, fire in the sky.” Fun tune, lots of fond memories 😉

Yes, you are so correct, there is a much bigger picture thing going on here which is shifting daily. The rapid expansion of federal power and the outright tyranny of those tightening the noose on anyone who thinks differently than they do is a bit jarring to watch. No rash moves is good counsel but something’s gotta give at some point and I fear things will get much uglier.

The only t(y)ranny afoot, Tricia is your apparent refusal to extent the same rights to your fellow man …. or woman.
You may not be happy but a great many are smiling with gay abandon.
When South Africa became democratic we were called the Rainbow Nation.
Human rights mean just that and thank the gods, you don’t get to tell another who they can love or marry or deny them the same rights as you take for granted.

  8. Arkenaten says:

I am sure that the owners of Word Press are entitled to do what ever they like regarding the platform.
Maybe some of the owners are so happy they can now get married legally? You never know, right?

You have your god-given free will so if you don’t like it – leave. You know I’ll be sad to see you go, of course.
    But life goes on.

    Should I wave bye-bye?

  9. “…the phony Christians are in such an uproar…”

From a comment above. I just want to note that comments like this and several others do reveal that the agenda of SSM really has never been about “people’s rights” or “love” at all, but rather a desire to launch an attack on Christianity.

    • archaeopteryx1 says:

…attack on Christianity“? – how can you possibly say that, I/B? The U. S. Supreme Court made the decision, and Romans 13:1 makes that clear: “Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God” – proof positive that the Bible’s god approves of same-sex marriage, therefore the rainbow must be NOT be a WP addition, but rather a miracle – sign of his covenant, to remind himself not to bring any more hurricanes because of Gay Pride parades.

Do you work hard at promoting evil, or does it come naturally? God does not approve of ssm. Ever heard of sodomy? Authority is one thing, His blessing on the ‘decisions’ by they in authority is another.

He cannot contradict himself: ‘men with men working that which is unseemly…………….’ ‘Even the women in their lust for one another……………………..’ And the full court press of decadence is proof than men want their own (g)od, as do you.

You should be careful with sharps such as scripture. ‘Ever heard of ‘the thoughts and intents of the heart of man was only evil continually?’ You sir, are adding to the pile.

As far as Westboro, nice work, but its gone, I don’t want that garbage here.

    • Tricia says:

@SaintPaulieGirrl….wow, your comments are pretty stunning in their complete lack of civility and enormous use of anti Christian stereotypes. It’s nice though that people can compare them with others and decide for themselves who is the one doing damage to their cause.

    • Citizen Tom says:

You are correct, but such comments as that one about phony Christians merely make the obvious more manifest. I wish people would use their eyes and ears, but too many fear the corporate news media and politically correct Modern Liberals. Those people can make lots of intimidating noises. And when something bad happens to people they don’t like…tough luck. That’s their new America.

Here is the obvious. Same-sex “marriage” is not marriage. If same-sex “marriage” only exists in fiction, how can it be a right?

Here two somethings the corporate news media avoids like the plague.
      1. No one engages in “sex” with someone of the same sex because they love that person. Why? Consider this example. Who in their right mind would perform sodomy on someone they care about?
      2. Same-sex couples are unfaithful to each other (as if they actually cared to be faithful). Their relationships have more to do with spreading disease than they do about love. Remember that AIDS quilt. Think of the craziness. At the same time they busied themselves by denying that AIDS is a homosexual problem, perverts were dying like flies. Did they stop having multiple sex partners? No. They just demanded that the government spend billions to fix the problem, and that’s what the Democrats did.

Anyway, I doubt it serves much purpose to directly answer the originator of the comment you quoted. His/her comments serve no purpose except to anger people,

the underlying reason for wp’s boldness is much scarier – they believe they have enough people who agree with their political correctness – I bet when they first started 10 years ago, they would not have been so bold…..
