Not amused

Some people think they are living their entire life in a private amusement park, where every thing is fun and games. When you don’t show up at their park of nonsense, and ‘step right up’ to have your weight guessed, or to try to fit a 6 inch basketball into a 5 inch hoop…… you are thought to be pitied for not joining in the reindeer games. Or is prudence perhaps the better word?

When a person demands: Prove Daniel lived, prove Paul wrote his epistles, prove there was a wedding at Cana of Galilee, or tell of something useful that the Lord did in the days of His flesh, or tell us whether you would save a drowning kitten or a pet canary (gotta pic one) these are more than amusing.

They are endless bunnies, yep, like the Ever-ready battery, and that smiling rabbit banging the drum……keeps on tickin. May as well have the fella going in circles on the merry-go-round or Ferris wheel, up and around, round and round, going no further and getting no closer to the truth of anything; the revolving door being the gateway of perpetual distractions and nonsense.

I was asked once: Why did god create the universe? (See that little ‘g’ there? Kinda puts a damper on any real interest at dialog.) I calmly said the word of God reveals the answer. However, if one does not believe WHO ‘in the beginning……….’ then WHY is irrelevant.  Chew on this. But this fine answer  was considered an absurd escape, a non answer.

No. Key word here, absurd. Absurd not because of the question, but absurd because the questioner has no context for an answer, as ‘gods’ are a dime a dozen, and collectively all the false gods could not muster the strength to lift a solitary feather, therefore ANY answer will be trampled afoot.

Unless one believes in the God of creation as clearly demonstrated in life, confirmed through scripture, and known by the heart, he will always be at a disadvantage of understanding, and appear to be like a laughing hyena in a cage at a park: for amusement purposes only.

There is a time and a purpose to be humorous or amused, but that time is never ALWAYS.

Answering some questions only justify the nonsense and gives opportunity for the gatekeeper to smile as another ‘customer’ walks through his gate, ‘Aha, another fool here to amuse.’ Guess what? One can always opt out.

And in this carnival, the one who guesses the weight of a 116 lb woman as 200 lb, and pretends he is right, well,  you get the drift as far as nonsense. I however do not find it amusing.

While some may appreciate the fun and games, at least some know they are fun and games. The word on the park bench is now a person is not moral if he does not answer certain questions…………yep, I kid you not.  Heard it myself, and you did too.

I suppose then, the Lord Jesus Christ was not moral when He was mute before Pilate when asked: ‘what is truth?’ Uh huh, sure, He who epitomizes grace and truth was immoral because he did not enter Pilates amusement park. Right. Okay. Uh huh. Sure.

Answering certain questions designed purely to find fault merely gives credibility to a lost cause. Pilate had no interest in ultimate truth, neither do they who ignore the answers already given in scripture.

Scripture is not a playground,  closer to a battlefield maybe where good always wins, but not a book to provide amusement to the spiritually cripple. It cuts the hands of they who trifle with its sacred contents while it gives ears to the deaf,  20/20 to the visually impaired, it puts man in his proper place as it is the very best of swords, it reveals the thoughts and intents of the heart, and it proves the simple desire of some to cite scripture as an object of disdain and amusement. Again, I am not amused.

Need proof? Visit any site of they who traffic in the maiming of scripture and people of faith,  especially they who boast of a ‘past life’ as a believer, and you will see a whole lotta people on park benches with crutches and heads bandaged, swearing that scripture is to blame, meanwhile, they are simply banging their heads against their own disappointments, unbelief, images of a god they created, and common sense.  Tis a poor sight.

And by the way, the battle has long been won by He who holds all ammunition. If one wants to go up against Him, you must ask to borrow your weapons, for you see, He owns everything, and for what its worth, no weapon formed against Him will prosper.

no truer words sum up your frustration, my frustration…the lack of amusement with those who continue to fuss and cuss us, you, me or any believer for that matter…yet they will not hear you or me or others as they continue on with the little “g” as the God of Creation is but one more little god in their book—the time is at hand CS as the sheep and goats are being separated—let any one who has ears to hear…hear and eyes to see… see.

So much great truths covered in this one post! Awesome.

Concluding that there is no God, resolves absolutely nothing while simultaneously removing all hope and justice from a person. At the end of the day, it’s also quite the impossibility for even an atheist to exist without God.
I really appreciate your imagery here – a whole lotta people on park benches with crutches and heads bandaged, swearing that scripture is to blame.

It has long past an issue of reason/logic for them, because the majority when asked if Jesus is who He claims to be if they would be prepared to worship Him, still say no.
So, the reality is that some people just do not want their to be a God. It would be nice if they’d be honest enough to say so…
instead, they stifle God’s revealed truths to them by
“posing questions” designed only to trap. Well, if they knew Scripture as well as they proclaimed, they’d know even Messiah was not spared this prideful and foolish act of man, already trapped and enslaved to his own ‘worldly wisdom.’

Love your last thought that the Lord was not spared the mischievousness of the so called spiritually elite.

You are right though when you suggest people are not entirely honest…………..there is no lack of clarity in the text of scripture, so yes, it would be far better to say ‘I care not to believe, Period,’ rather than to assert that somehow God has not left a witness.

Tkx too Ancients for recalling the idea of the park bench; it does make the point.

“Worship is the art of losing self in the adoration of another. Praise can be a part of worship, but worship goes beyond praise. Praise is easy; worship is not. Worship gets to the heart of who we are. To truly worship God, we must let go of our self-worship. We must be willing to humble ourselves before God, surrender every part of our lives to His control, and adore Him for who He is, not just what He has done. Worship is a lifestyle, not just an occasional activity. Jesus said the Father is seeking those who will worship Him “in spirit and in truth.”

Why wouldn’t a deity be worshipped Ark?
Jesus, unlike angels had no problem receiving worship. After all He is God.

And as they went, suddenly, Jesus met them, saying, “Rejoice!” And they went to Him and took hold of His feet [in homage] and worshiped Him [as the Messiah].
        And they worshiped Him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy [fully understanding that He lives and that He is the Son of God];

And he said, “Lord, I believe [in You and Your word]!” And he worshiped Him [with reverence and awe]*

Deities are worshiped, but they shouldn’t.
Such obeisance is demeaning and Jesus was not about that at all.
He even stated he came to serve, not be served. Haven’t you even read your bible?

          Hi Ark,
First, I must congratulate you on progressing in the right direction – at least you’ve come to agree that Jesus existed.

Yahweh means Lord with the nature of a Father and is just indicative of one of the many natures of the Godhead. [Think of a multi-faceted diamond, don’t just appreciate the view from one facet Ark, turn it around and appreciate all its flawless characteristics].

Jesus/ Emmanuel – God with us is called many things (all attesting to His Deity)
He shall be called the son of God (Elohim)
He is called the Son of the Most High (El Elyon)

Obviously Jesus was & is not just a man. He said so Himself. Remember: ‘I and My Father are one, if you’ve seen me you’ve seen the Father.’
Which leads to why Jesus came to serve. Jesus knows God the Father and is in a real relationship with Him.
“when a person is in a real relationship with God, he will serve God. We should want to serve God because we know Him; an inherent part of knowing Him is a desire to serve Him.”

“It’s always been God’s intention to make us like His Son, Jesus (Romans 8:29). When we look at Jesus’ life, there’s no denying that He was a servant. Jesus’ entire life was centered on serving God—by teaching, healing, and proclaiming the Kingdom (Matthew 4:23). He came not “to be served but to serve”

I worship El Elyon/Yahweh Elohim/The God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob.

Ark, many have tried to discount Jesus as the Son of God but all they end up doing is crushing themselves.
Christ Jesus is proof of the One True God. So trying to nullify or dismiss His existence or His eternal nature is deviant and you’re guarantee to fail!

We’ve had this discussion before, so I’m not going to revisit it except to reiterate:
El Elyon/Yahweh Elohim/El Shaddai/The Creator of the universe is an uncreated, infinite, righteous, merciful being.

The Canaanites were polytheistic and worshipped many dieties (idols).
Their worship of Yahweh, El Elyon, was most likely influenced by their neighbors.
“Yahweh is specific to the Israelite religion, monotheism was well and truly established before the Babylonian captivity, and other arguments that the Israelite religion grew from a Canaanite deity are not well founded and are reaching.”

CS, I have to say, your commentary on Peter’s post @ 6:05 AM was very good. It was quite funny too, but I didn’t want to lose the serious nature of what is being ‘subtly’ done here to the hilarity associated with it .
Just this morning I was listening to one of my favorite teachers who made the exact point of what you are doing here.
He basically said: if someone were to put a gun to our heads and tell us to renounce Christ, most of us would not. However when those same people come and begin to speak trash against the Lord and begin to violate all of the truth of the word of God, most of us don’t say anything because it’s ‘subtle’. But, it’s the exact same thing [he says]. It’s denying the Lord, it’s denying our relationship with Him, and us being more afraid of these God-deniers than we are of God.

So, I applaud you for not allowing the name of God, His Son and His Holy Spirit to be blasphemed on your site. [taking notes for myself].

Please arch, stop. You may as well ask for help in arithmetic by attending a spelling bee.

The scriptures are self proving, and this infuriates people, hence your stubbornness.

There is no other book like it on earth, and rightly so. There are no defects in God nor His word.

Read the post again about the scriptures being a playground……….beep, no.

The Bible is loaded with defects. Biblical scholar ************************************(CS SEZ: NICE TRY) has already catalogued 331 of them and he’s barely scratched the surface.

Yeah, ok, uh, sure, a ‘biblical scholar’ whose mission in life is to find ‘defects’ in scripture…………… He may as well look for gold in his cheerios. Do you also think I will help you in deconversion attempts by putting his name in daylight? Please.

I also noticed that you are a favorite customer at his place, with questions and answers that are truly amusing. In the spirit of this post, I am neither amused at him nor you. Tis a pity to spend a lifetime trying to deface that which is effulgent. Reminds me of someone trying to polish stainless steel with 36 grit sandpaper, and boasting of the scratches while saying how beautiful it is.

Your hero friend is one more scriptural imposter.

Credentials? You mean of people who SAY the exodus is fiction…………

Please arch, this conversation is so yesterdays recycled excuses by men wearing different clothes. And keeping their identity a ‘secret?’ Ha. You know him and his kind, I just do not want to give such types free press.

I think the word is prudent. Your ‘experts’ collectively can complain all they want about the fire lapping the water of Elijah’s foolish friends……..and God’s word will have lost none of its lustre. The gripes have been going on since time began.

Your ‘hero’ will die, and someone else will take his place, with the same regurgitated insults and mockeries of scripture. See the face on the queen? Not amused.

And year by year, the numbers of those who believe in 3000-year old fairy tales will dwindle into oblivion, where they belong. Then maybe we can get on with the business of bringing the people of this planet into peace and harmony with each other.

I gawt news for ya archx, and pay attention.

If there was no scripture, if there was no ‘religion,’ if the world was cough couch a place of ‘peace and harmony,’ there would STILL be lying, theft, adultery, murder, and that big one, a world full of proud people, having no excuse for vile and wickedness, and you would cry for some sense of law and order.

The dogs of depravity would have their day, for ‘my’ peace says I can have your daughter, your house, your car, and if I want, even your life because your lawnmower is too loud.

You do not know what you ask for.

I wish I had time to scroll through and read all the comments because I’m sure they pretty much proved the point of this excellent post and would be an amusing read to say the least.

I really like your point on pointless discussions with those that don’t understand the context of the subject enough (at all?) to even begin to have a reasoned conversation. I’ve been struggling with this because I don’t like to not respond or be flippant to someone who comments on one of my posts, but when it’s apparent they not only don’t understand but are just there to cause a stir then it’s time to move on.

So many good truths here ColorStorm, as usual my mind is stimulated after reading one of your posts.
