You gotta love the understated elegance of scripture, and the eternal wisdom of God, as if to anticipate all the high crimes and misdemeanors by the creatures on earth who dare say with the utmost arrogance that man is a product of accident, or that life is purely without intelligent design, that after speaking into existence ‘light,’ God would have man record that: ‘He made the stars also.’
“Also.’ In addition to His unmatched glory and incomparable magnificence, He made the stars also.’ Naturally demure, as he is perfect. It was God who called the light ‘Day,’ and oh by the way, ‘He made the stars also.’ The unfathomable span above us, reaching further than the comprehension of the human mind, delineated simply that men may know, that the jewels of heaven reveal the glory of God.
Quite an offense then, to deny God what is His, and to steal His creation giving it to creeping things that ignore or malign His very being. Then there is the assault on this with equal egregiousness:
Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures.
Just reporting the facts, those pesky truths that are most uncomfortable to the stout of heart, yet at the same time most warming to the truly hungry. And btw, no devil on earth and no angel in heaven can usurp this truth with pronouncements of its irrelevance or denial.
Ah yes, according to the scriptures. Whether it be men women, light day, male female, hot cold, sowing reaping, life death, truth lies, love hate, there is nothing on earth that cannot be interpreted and understood correctly through the scriptures. And also, it is much easier to believe God created all that is, than it is to believe that God could redeem they who have betrayed his image.
So choose wisely: according to Bill Maher or Sarah Silverman, according to Hillary Clinton or Hillary Duff, according to Richard Dawkins or Richard Gere, take your pick, but there is also according to the scriptures.
(Etc: a shout out to the many people who are rather endearing and are a testament to the goodness of God. May we all enjoy His power, truth, and lasting promises.)
