Just a wee sparrow

There are birds of the air that speak of power, promise, majesty, and color, all having the imprint of the Creator. The eagle, the dove, the cardinal, the sparrow.

Ah yes, that unassuming little sparrow, in which we are reminded that we are of more value than many of them. How can this be?  If God cares for them, will he not also care for us, if we allow Him?

The demure sparrow works all day while accepting the fruit of the earth from a God who owns everything, and who misses nothing. Truly, His eye is on the sparrow, and His eye is on thee.

While the eagle may get marquee billing and headline news by that wingspan, awesome flight pattern, and the wonder of the lift, it is the simple sparrow that has God’s careful watch, as He delights in the lesser of these things.

Ye are of more value. VALUE.  It is the Creator’s estimation of our selves, and therein abides the golden worth. Than MANY sparrows. Yikes, if that is not humbling, and it may have something to do with the idea that man is created in the image of God.

And that’s a promise, courtesy of the Creator, who neither slumbers nor sleeps, and who knows all about yesterday, tomorrow, and by the way, He got today covered as well. ‘Ye are of more value than many sparrows.’ And for what it’s worth, this short truth contains a complete demolishing of unbelief, fear, godlessness, and doubt.

Gotta love those little birds, but God’s word should be esteemed even more, as God’s tweets are light years ahead of ours.

  3. That really was beautiful. That’s is often my most challenging bit of scripture, I have hard time leaning into those words, but oh what a blessing when we do.

Yeah, you really have a way with saying what you think your acolyte want to hear. Bet in another life, you’d have made a great snake oil salesman —

Ah, another of what I have come to call your “minimalist” posts – just a tiny this, a meager that, an insignificant something else – have you noticed you tend to use the same hackneyed theme over and over?

        • ColorStorm says:

          Minimalist eh?

The ‘unassuming and demure sparrow’ with a design to fly and be fed, ahem, courtesy of NO, not random serendipity, but by the Designer, is ‘minimal huh.’

Ok, sure, minimal……. maybe from someone who thinks man shares the same ‘accidental’ existence as a worm……..

But tkx for proving my point about something so seemingly irrelevant; your response to this post reveals more of you that you care to imagine. Pity comes to mind though.

(and btw, your wisecrack about ‘sauteed sparrows’ does not deserve top billing, and in light of man being more value than many of them…………you best be quiet so you do not embarrass yourself further)

        • archaeopteryx1 says:

The same can be said of your post and you.

          This short post begins:

—There are birds of the air that speak of power, promise, majesty, and color, all having the imprint of the Creator. The eagle, the dove, the cardinal, the sparrow.—

And this has WHAT to do with me for God’s sake? Can you please bother someone else…………

        • archaeopteryx1 says:

Because you’re the one who wrote the poorly-written nonsensical drivel.

        • ColorStorm says:

Brrrrrraaaackkk. In the voice of a parrot, you were told to bother someone else.

You CAN fly right? After all, you are the evolutionary birdman………… oh wait, you didn’t earn your wings…….

Once more, you have wasted every comment and saying nothing. Bye now. And maybe consider in your free time the Creator of the wings……..

I dunno, CS. If God values the sparrow, it’s kinda hard to tell from watching the life of an actual sparrow.

    • ColorStorm says:

You could always start with the concept of sight, as in YOUR ability to see a flying creature in the first place. One need not look far to see the supernatural. Last time I checked, turtles do not build nests in trees, but some are slower than turtles to see the obvious. Nature reveals the glory of God, and many a divine lesson is to be had through a simple bird.

But do tell WHY you do not have a WP site, and do you have multiple sock puppet accts?

CS, I’m sure you will disagree with much of this. you may even choose to edit or delete most of it. but here is goes…
i’m not sure i would say that any life is more valuable than any other. seeing as they all come and go to the same place before and after death. all our lives are but a vapor and a wisp of smoke, here today, gone tomorrow. if in fact they are all originated, or ‘created’ if you will, from or by the same source, wouldn’t you think they would hold equal value?
what gives our lives purpose is what we do with the ‘now’ that we have. the fact that we are here at all even to argue about it is improbable enough. our value comes from being alive for this short blip on earth, but our purpose comes from us.

    • ColorStorm says:

Your comment cries for a recognition of the Creator! Why?

Because you do not keep genealogies for coyotes. YOU DO NOT VALUE a ground hog as you do a human.

      Honesty demands you agree.

And since there is a difference between man and hyena, ask yourself: WHY? And you will be on pace toward believing the scriptures, and then take your eyes off everything that distracts……….and the endless barrage of irrelevant questions and complaints, and to then see, that in the beginning God……..

A good lesson there with the sparrow though.
