It’s a circus I tell ya

The word on the street was that a man was performing ‘miracles.’ Mind you, the circumstances, facts, and the blistering truth of a man born blind now seeing for the first time was overlooked, no, people wanted to sit in on the ‘circus antics,’ and King Herod wanted to be amused. He wanted to ‘see’ how people were duped.

Sorry, the son of God does not entertain at the feasts of kings. He will not show His hand to the disinterested. He will not abet the summons of fools. ‘He was hoping to have seen a miracle,’ it was said of Herod. Yep, he wanted to see the amazing Kreskin, a magician as it were, and the Lord would have no part in catering to his unbelief and scorn.

Card tricks can be seen anywhere. The Lord knew that fox rather well.

Hearts not exercised unto Godliness are poor places to see evidence of the divine. Pure water and bitter do not flow from the same tap. So today, the ungodly asks for proof of the divine, while ignoring or denying the essential truth that Christ justifies the ungodly. That’s right, He does, and is quite happy about it.

But miracles? Ha, I just wrote of the greatest of all. The creation of the sun and earth’s moon was indeed miraculous. Heck I couldn’t do it, nor you and all your friends combined, but to justify the ungodly, to make right that which was crooked, to justify, to make straight that which was blatantly wayward, now there’s a miracle that cannot be denied.

Men kick and scream like a two-year old in a grocery store fighting against God and His word, then they further blow a gasket when a man turns from darkness to light; they cannot tolerate when a man turns from the idol of himself unto the living God. A man would rather see criminals in their uncaught freedoms, than to see the power of God in a heart bent on Godliness.

Show me a man happy in the grace of God, and I’ll show you a hundred sinners who say he is a fool. Show me a woman who knows the Creator of color, and I’ll show you a thousand women who say she is blind. Such is the eternal truth of scripture.

Show me a man such as Paul the apostle who was sold out for grace and the Christ of God, and I’ll show you ten thousand men who say he was a mere ringleader in a circus. Yeah, to be so amused like Herod.Image result for circus

  1. It really is a circus! And now the psychotic clowns are trying to run the place. That’s just lovely. What could possibly go wrong here?

I know, right? A Pastor I know once said, you just have to remember that misery always loves its own company. Step into a bit of joy, into salvation, and people tend to get a bit huffy about it.
