Uh oh I’m in trouble now

You have heard of dangling participles, misplaced colons, unnecessary italics, untidy prepositions, and poor spelling. But wait, there’s more, but first…

Ok I’ll say it up front lest anybody accuse me of being the antichrist. This idea is pure humor, borrowing from that time of year. If you do not find it funny, sorry, I can’t apologize, as there are far worthier causes to get rattled over.  That said, in the spirit of all those English teachers, writers, readers, bloggers one and all, literary agents, paragraph parsing personnel who are prim and proper publicly and privately, with motives purely not petty nor pedantic, and to wordsmiths everywhere, here’s a toast: and I bring you:

Santa……………

….and……

Drum roll please: Da dada da: .

…subordinate clauses……..

(c’mon ye who may tend to the legalese of Santa and whatnot, celebrate or not, it’s ok to laugh. Unto the pure all things are pure.)

  1. Ha! Or perhaps Ho, Ho, Ho! Very cute little subordinate clauses. 🙂

Believe it or not, the tale of “Yes Virginia there is a Santa Claus,” really helped to pull me into faith as a kid. It’s not the jolly old man at all, but the fact that people are capable of focusing on their higher selves, and embracing whatever is lovely, whatever is good. I knew Santa wasn’t real, but the Christmas spirit is real enough.

And you have heard the nonsensical comparisons of ‘Santa’ to the ‘mythology’ of scripture.

Without the ‘spirit’ of Christmas, in which even unbelievers participate of course, there would be no ‘It’s a wonderful life’ with Jimmy Stewart, no ‘Christmas Carol’ and the likable Scrooge, no Bing Crosby and ‘White Christmas,’ no Linus @ Charlie Brown citing Luke, and how many songs, films, books, you name it, all expressing your ‘higher self,’ because of the inspiration coming from a true story.

And without a doubt ib22, people are ‘nicer’ this time of year, as I think there is an innate awareness of ‘goodwill toward men.’

Thanks friend. A little goodwill was just what the doctor(the Great Physician), ordered today. And the humor too.

Yeah, God can sanctify anything if we pay attention.

Doesn’t He say somewhere that He causes the wrath of man to praise Him….

But God does have a sense of humor. The giraffe with a sore neck, the hippos with chapped lips…………the centipede with athletes foot………

Heck, the animal kingdom alone shouts out ‘Creator.’ It’s all part of your goodwill I suppose.
