Consider for a moment that it does not rain 2 ton boulders instead of water drops. Consider that it does not snow in pre-formed blankets 6 feet thick which would instantly crush you.
Consider the fact that there is the perfect amount of light and darkness, cold and heat, and that the ground beneath our feet rewards us with food in due time.
Consider the gospel message of the perennial flower, which speaks of life after appearing lifeless or forgotten.
Consider a common birds nest as an engineering marvel, the work ethic of an ant, a spider’s web as genius, an ostrich’s lack of wisdom, the flight of an eagle, the strength of an ox, the wool of a sheep, the leather of a deer, the night owl, the cooing dove, and the sweetness of sleep.
Then there is man…
Put any one of these on the scales of human invention, and we may foolishly and casually dismiss them as being divine. Combine them, and the impossibility of not seeing the hand of God is crushed on that same scale.
Is it any wonder then, that we say: how great thou art?
To the believer then, here’s hoping His greatness is revealed in the smallest of things. And to the unbeliever, here’s hoping your eyes are opened to the unity of the God of creation who is the God of scripture, and that the God of all glory is indeed the Father of lights as shown through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, by whom all things consist.
Happy New Year, and the very best -17 !!
