Oh deer

Which came first, the mountains of snow, or the whitetail deer, able to sit comfortably all day in a climate of 50 degrees below zero, relaxing in a blinding blizzard of a snowstorm, as if he was eating mangos in the Bahamas?

Was the deer made for the snow, or were the mountains made for the deer? And who pray tell made the mountains or the snow…………

And what genius of random goo, poo, or dew, drafted such a lovely creature with those awesome feet?

Or perhaps, in the beginning God……the same who made great whales to swim as guests in the greatest of waters.

  1. After years, the deer in my area finally allowed me to walk among them.

When talking to my family about them, I always referred to the deer as the “wee ones.”

    Thought provoking as always.

I remember back in the early 70s it seemed like you never saw deer…now it’s a minor miracle to get home at night and not hit one.

  3. No, no, no…the deer rode in on a comet that crashed into a mountain during a blinding snow storm.

  4. Ah, all good points. One of the issues with evolutionary theories is always the issue of time. Did it suddenly snow and hence forth all baby deer suddenly evolved for cold weather? How did they know to evolve? What if it was just a global warming fluke? Evolution usually takes many generations, so how did all the un-evolved baby deer survive before nature finally caught up? If they were tough enough to survive, why would they need to evolve in the first place?

Also, who is the moron that decided to ban hunting and build deer crosswalks? Did someone forget to tell them deer cannot read? Do humans ever evolve out of perpetual stupidity?

Sorry, Colorstorm, I may have gotten distracted…. šŸ™‚
