So there is no devil eh?

I’m hesitant to even refer to this mindless comment from a post which has given a rather negative accolade to a man who is simply on holiday, in the land where time stops, and in the place that has captivated attention for millenia.  But here it is:

“Wally is on a trip to Israel, the Christian Disneyland, where we are told of places and stories and people who never lived, never happened and have been only constructed for our amusement… like some kind of Abrahamic Coney Island ride.”

Really? Digest this comment for a second. Who would say such a thing about a man and his wife in this insulting way while they take a trip of a lifetime?

But Christian Disneyland eh? Yes indeed, that place which is the bull’s eye of the targeted scorn by atheists and hatred by the nations of the world. THAT place where also our Lord was crucified. Disneyland eh?

Where WE are told of people who never lived? Uh, no, that would be where we are told of places and people who YOU have interpreted through a foggy lens of broken glass, coupled with a callous heart. As to others, we see clearly that God is good, His word pure, and Jerusalem, Joppa, and Jericho have eternal lessons and significance IF the heart is right.

Stories told for OUR amusement eh? Sure, tis comedy to read of Daniel’s three friends who were attempted to be incinerated. Right, truly amusing to read of the headless corpse of the greatest man born of woman. Truly amusing to read of the deceitful alliance between Judas and the Sanhedrin involving thirty pieces of silver. Very amusing to read that Pilate washed his hands and said: ‘I find NO fault in this man.’ Truly comical to read of the crucifixion of the Lamb of God. Quite funny to read of Paul’s many lashings of 39 stripes. Indeed, hilarious.

Abrahamic Coney Island eh?  Yeah, spoken by fools with pink cotton candy in hand as they smile while chastising God, scripture, Jerusalem, and good people everywhere who have tasted and seen that the Lord, he is good.

Ah how the devil must smile in silent delight at what he even knows is true.

(And W, don’t waste words, energy, or strength responding to such nonsense, lest it put a damper on your trip. I just wanted to nip this in the bud and point out the dark shadows and I should probably apologize for even addressing such absurdity. But such depravity needs marked out.)

Thx for the link. I’ll try to get a proper response up, although I’m not a proper archaeologist

Hey Colorstorm. I had seen the post. Mike didn’t even have the gumption to link properly to the person he chose to mock.

I do, however, extend a hearty thanks for watching my back friend.

Cruise over to my place and look at some pics if you get few.

Thanks for your friendship and protection of our brother in Christ. Wally is walking on the same ground which our Savior walked two thousand years ago. I’d say that beats Disney Land by a long shot.

Disney land and Jerusalem in the same sentence?

Walt Himself would roll over in his grave after hearing such blatant stupidity.

But it certainly is easy to point out such disdain for God, the scriptures, and people of faith.

W is a good brother, and he deserves support.

  4. Oh dear Lord CS. I won’t click on the link to Mike’s blog but this does sound exactly like something he would write.

Despite his best effort to diminish faith, all he does is make himself look like a complete fool.

  6. Oh this just makes me so angry—I have a very difficult time with those who choose to “mock”…..
and that is what this is…mocking—
which in turn means to demean and belittle,
which in turn is just a form of bullying…and nobody likes a bully.
    Especially me.
    Teachers loath bullies.
    And on the other hand,
I am thoroughly enjoying being a virtual tourist on Wally’s trip as I’ve never been to the Holy Land and have it on the bucket list….
How is it that one can dare say that these folks, this Jesus, his followers, never existed?
I have been to Rome, and I have ventured deep into the bowels of the Vatican to view Peter’s tomb…I have sat in the dank cistern prison that held both Peter and Paul—their interment is well documented in Rome…so they didn’t really exist?
    I had no idea….
So Nero just used humans as lamp posts because it was dark???…
It had nothing to do with their choice to follow the one who Peter and Paul proclaimed in Rome to be the Christos….???
Thank you CS for helping to put bullies in their place.

I hear you. Well said. Be ye angry! and sin not.

    @mike aka knowitall

Take a look at what reason looks like in this comment gift wrapped for you. But do be careful how you respond to the ladies around here. They are not worthy of your scorn. And by the way, this is what Christianity looks like. It is caring for its own. It is easily confronting nonsense.

  8. Well said, Colorstorm. I’ll join you in aiming some brotherly affection Wally’s way, and also in coveting all his great travel photos. And the food, too! As to jet lag and airport security, he’s on his own there. 🙂

Good on you ColorStorm for posting this, if nothing less than to show in all its glory the sheer idiocy of someone who would post something like that. It’s hard for me to even grasp the ignorance of the referenced statement, but I do take comfort that Wally is far more advanced in his thinking and does not appear bothered by the least. If anything it will probably enhance his trip.

      Hi Tricia

Good point and you know it yourself

A person could not see some of this and remain convinced its not true and real

‘Hard to grasp the ignorance of the referenced statement.’

Here here……. With statements like that, its no wonder so many ‘deconvert………’ so it would appear the affection for the Lord was suspect.

How does one LEAVE the Lord of glory? Like leaving a game early, or leaving work? But Jerusalem is no different than Detroit eh? Oh brother Truly mind numbing trish.

And people say there is no devil……….

    • Hard for me to grasp the ignorance as well Tricia, in fact it’s mind-blowing.

Part for the course for our friend KIA though, hate and ignorance are literally all he has to offer the blogosphere.
