Are you sane?

Out of sane, insane, you are outta your mind! Words that evoke an immediate response, whether spoken or not. We all want to preserve what little dignity we have, ( if any at all) and who wants to be told they are pretty much out to lunch.

Truth be told, we are all a few doughnuts short in the box, regarding something. The ant is clueless as to making a spider’s web, and the wasp is lost in space as to the making of honey. The most specialized of insects are ignorant to something.  But man are they experts in their chosen field.

Unfortunately, humans are not insects, and do not know everything, even in a specialized field. Fortunately, there is One who knows everything, is a specialist in every field, has understanding which is infinite, is wise above all, knows all about the yesterdays, todays, and tomorrows, and has all the hairs of our head counted.

He is well aware of the unsearched depths of the world’s waters, (of which we know less than .01 per cent) He is well aware of the plotting by world leaders, He is well aware of the exact location of the next 19 earthquakes and their precise time down to the second, He is well aware of every single lumens given by every star in the heavens, and nothing on earth escapes His notice. Nothing. Of course. He is the Almighty.

He is well aware of the mind numbing lies against His very being, His word, the deceit, the theft, and the accusations against the character of good people who simply rest in the nature of His presence. Heck, I’d be happy to be just in His shadow.

But to be in the right mind, begins with the knowledge of the Lord above all. Reverential awe, also known as fear, is the starting point for this sanity of mind. Anything else is just ignorance, whether intentional or not.

Maybe we do need to consider the ant…he is insane as to the building of a beavers dam, but boy is he expert in carrying a load, and has a work ethic second to none.  But in fulfilling his purpose, he is completely sane, so the question is fair: are you fulfilling YOUR purpose, are you sane, and WHO designed that purpose. (ouch, WHO…?)

Hint: leave out God, and you fail the test, but you do get the consolation prize of 9 cookies which in the world where there are no absolutes, amounts to a dozen. Who then could rightfully argue with such liberalism?

But go ahead, cite believers as insane, and we will thank you for the compliment. A sound mind is the most majestic possession.

  1. it is amazing realizing just how much we do not know….despite the inflated ego, pride and blind trust in our knowledge—It is humbling and actually quiet freeing to shrink as it were, to sit back and bask in the untold Glories—it hurts one brain to even begin to go there—to sit at the feet of the One who spun it all …as He is even outside and beyond our very concept of space and time—thank you for the needed reminder that I am not the Creator but merely the created!!!

  2. Ha! I have been called crazy for so long I just surrendered all. Madness goes well with genius and falling in love and fabulous pieces of music. Even those who have had great victories against overwhelming odds were once said to be mad. Besides, many people with actual traumatic brain injuries and assorted other mental health challenges often believe in God. I wouldn’t exchange my “insanity” for the pride and “dignity” of atheism, that’s for sure. What a sad consolation prize that would be!

I imagine to God we all look a bit off, a few donuts short of a dozen. Well, He knows us better than we know ourselves, but sometimes I imagine Him shaking His head and thinking, “now that’s just nutty. Are they drinking bad water again??”

However, I’ve found there is real truth in 2 Timothy 1:7, “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”

Recently, someone asked for proof of ‘Jesus of Nazareth,’ but qualified by saying you couldn’t use the scriptures as proof…….

To this I say: your shrewdness needs taming, and I’d be happy to do it without the whip.

The scriptures present Christ as He is. Who cares what disinterested and unbelieving so-called historians say who will not admit to their sin anyway!

Take away the only source that is relevant, and presto, you have just altered history to your very illusion. Not sane I tell ya.

Look for Christ apart from the truth that explains Him, and you have many a false Christ, made in the image of man. Not too smart. Stupid even. Possibly insane even.

A sound mind is quite the bonus eh msb, which colors everything in its proper hue, the way it should be.

      • People who want to know about Jesus Christ should just ask Him themselves and read the bible. Presto, problem solved. 🙂

There are a group of scientists, scholars, who do study Jesus outside the context of the bible, looking at other records, texts etc. There is near unanimous agreement that Jesus did indeed walk the earth. There is this fringe group that nearly all scientists reject outright, frequently mocking them, called “the Christ myth theorists.” These are the people who actually contradict and deny the scientific evidence and the mainstream academic opinion that have all agreed, there is ample evidence of Jesus having been here.

They frequently try to ask me for proof of Jesus of Nazareth, too. They’re actually conspiracy theorists.

Now there is a truth with precedence eh msb. Remember the woman who was asked by the Lord what He could do for her.

Indeed. ‘Reveal your self to me.’

And He did just that by healing her daughter. Science should bow to such splendor, since God owns all trademarks to His creation, including the wiring for the human body.

But yes, evidence galore to a truth seeker.

I see the issue of sanity as one of self-imposed blinders. Until we believe that God exists we will not begin to see His Creation from His point-of-view. We will have little motivation to see things from the point-of-view of others. Until we learn to love as Jesus taught us, then only one point-of-view matters. Until we learn to love, we are virtually blind. Until we know our Creator cares for us, we have no reason to exist. Until we know our Creator cares for us, we cannot have a purpose. We can only stumble about blindly.
