The greatest of these scents…

Recently a joke was made regarding Christianity online, as well as another empty observation, and these twin broken lines of raw sewage need to be fumigated, then scorched. I’m happy to do it, but please accept a thousand apologies for my mentioning of it, but only to draw attention to the greater point. First the ‘joke’ in light of Good Friday:

God was driving to the hardware store, and the son said, ‘ Dad, don’t forget the nails…………’

Image result for lily of the valley

If you are Christian, I’m guessing you did not find this funny. (either way, what was your immediate thought?) If you are Christian however, I would think you found this vile, depraved, obnoxious, and toxic, because you no doubt appreciate how the scriptures point out that men would say such things. Ungodliness is apparently alive and well, as well as clouds without water and raging seas foaming out their own shame.

The crucifixion of the son of God not according to Bill Maher, not according to George Carlin, not according to Steve Colbert, not according to stonegods,  no, but ‘according to the scriptures,’ is hardly humorous. Which leads to the second twisted comment:

All religions are based on equally empty claims.

Really now?  Can you not see the kindred spirit of the ‘joke’ as well as this foolish statement? To the godless who sees no distinction between genesis and revolution, I suppose this would make sense. But to someone who has actually thought through such vapid ideas, the emptiness merely abides in the mind of the one having such mental myopia.

The promise of 70 virgins to a fool who blows himself up, as well as a busload of people he never met, is devilish to the core. Maybe this ‘religion’ should hear from the 70 virgins who may say: ‘Ha, you arrived here doing that? Get the hell away from me you disgusting piece of filth.’  The blower-upper may want to consider such a thought.

In addition, if such ‘paradise’ is promised to they who act as devils, why do you never hear of the leaders setting the example by being the first in line to kill themselves? Answer if you can.

So no. ALL religions are not equal, all do not make equally despicable claims. Bastard ‘religions’ have their own signature scent, and it is not ‘Old Spice,’ but more like ‘Eau de Poisonne,’ or ‘Dead Possums in a Bottle.’

Sure, so-called Christian Science makes empty claims, such as the idea that sin is an illusion that can be imagined away. More bad-smelling cologne here. So yeah, false claims are a dime a dozen, but so what, even the godless scientists cannot agree on the distance of the sun from the earth.

But there is only one truth whereby all others try to duplicate, and there is only one which has no equal, because in this one truth is revealed the seed and truth of life itself, and is verified by nature, scripture, history, and common sense. It smells pleasant to the nose which recognizes truth wherever it is found.

There is a claim which has no equal.

The grace of God, NOT FOUND in any of the world’s religions, can only be seen in its purity, and can only be revealed to a contrite heart, by virtue of the person, worth, and work of the Lord Jesus Christ, as He is the only standard for Truth.

His word is good, as the once dead Lazarus walked again, being a harbinger to His word that: ‘I will rise again, according to the scriptures.’  A claim made and a promise kept. Smell the sweet savor of such an oath, spoken as a reminder to she who dumped the alabaster box, whereby the whole house was filled with the odor of that sweetness.

So do compare such a scent to the diabolical actions of the murdering beasts who would take innocent lives with a lying promise to receive women in the afterlife. Stinks to high heaven I tell ya, rotten to the core, intolerable stench, and you know it as well. No. Not all claims are equal.

The claims of charity being above that of faith and hope, are unique when considered in the banks of the flowing river of the grace of God. The water of life has only One source.

The claim of David’s son being also his Lord is proven by scripture, verifiable genealogies, history, as well as the witness of God Himself, who to this day, points us to the light of the moon as a reminder. His word never fails, and unlike the false claims of dead gods, God never sleeps, and keeps the apple of His eye. We are such apples.

And unlike Thomas, we need not see the prints of the nails…..for we understand the charity of the Lord Christ, and are happy with faith and hope, for no man on earth was MADE sin while at the same time glorifying God,  by putting away sin while Himself being sinless.  An empty claim or a joke eh?  Even the devil himself is not that stupid.

And that Friday by the way was not only good, but very good.

(Ps. To the atheist reader as well as believer, the person of Christ is revealed in scripture to soft hearts. Be brutally honest with yourself, and consider why or if you find such ‘humor’ funny at the expense of another’s affections. And of course, all religions do not make the same claims. One must be totally biased to say such a thing.)

(Pss. And if you comment as an ‘atheist,’ and try to defend such jokery, I will personally crush your nonsense and spit out the bones. As graciously as humanly possible of course. Others will also.)

that’s what is so amazingly wonderful….

To follow the thread from another post…that joke pisseth me off.

I got asked the other day if I thought I was a kind person. I never answered, as the question didn’t deserve an answer. But I did get to thinking. I love animals, and am almost without fail kind to them. On the other hand if a rabid foaming dog ran into my living room trying to drag my guests away, I would not be, nor required to be, quite so kind.

    Just sayin.

The joke certainly wasn’t funny but it does illustrate a Biblical truth: Jesus loved us enough that he was willing to die for us. Perhaps this is an example of Psalm 76:10, “Surely the wrath of man shall praise you.”

  4. Amen, Colorstorm. Some of that raw sewage needs to be burned. It’s good for the environment. People need to stop taking what is beautiful and trying to make it ugly.

All religions are not equal. Really ironic, the standard being used to measure the goodness or worth of other religions is actually a Christian one. People borrow God’s own standard of goodness and try to super impose it on other religions. So, “those people over there just want to live in peace, give to the poor, and care for the least of these, too!” No, they do NOT. That is not even a part of their belief system or their world view. Those are the things that Jesus Christ taught.

‘All religions are not equal.’ Now there is an understatement. As God has no equal, so does not His truth have an equal.

The problem I see is not only continuing to defend a blatant work of fiction, but also to celebrate a human sacrifice like a horde of uncouth wailing barbarians.

And to deny you celebrate it will be the height of hypocrisy, as you all believe that the character had to die for your sins …. and had to shed blood as well.

Were it in the least bit true it would put the crucifixion on a par with every other blood sacrifice where the supernatural belief that blood had to be spilled so as to make the rain come, increase crop yield, greater fertility and in the case of Christianity …. atone for sins.

Where we discussing an actual historical event , then to fawn over and ritualize such a barbaric practice is not only utterly disgusting is it ludicrous in the extreme.

That this is indoctrinated into children is horrific, and every Christian on the planet should be ashamed of themselves.

Or they would be if they too weren’t so blindly ignorant and indoctrinated themselves.

    • Citizen Tom says:

The notion that the Bible is a blatant work of fiction is kind of funny. You ought to look up some of the words you use. Let it suffice to say that you protest too loudly.

Because we want to be in control, we reject the idea of God we cannot control. We see that in Genesis 3. Until we understand how much God loves us, the very idea of an Almighty God can terribly frightening. In fact, when men desire and demand absolute obedience from other men, men whose only god is that fellow in the mirror invent the most terrifying and frightening idols. In our day their idol is a police state, one that make people disappear, that leaves us nothing more than rumors of a lingering, painful death.

The Old Testament paints the picture of a patient, loving God. Yes, God displays His wrath against sin, and yes, that wrath remains in the New Testament. Nevertheless, God only demands of us what we need from Him, love.

Micah 6:8 New King James Version (NKJV)

      8 He has shown you, O man, what is good;
And what does the Lord require of you
      But to do justly,
      To love mercy,
And to walk humbly with your God?

So it is ironic that Atheists use a value system based upon Bible to attack the Bible. Without the very God they deny how can Atheists defend such a value system? If we are here today and gone tomorrow, what difference does it make?

Doing what is right comes at a high cost, and Atheists have little interest in paying that cost.

1 Corinthians 15:31-32 Good News Translation (GNT)

31 My friends, I face death every day! The pride I have in you, in our life in union with Christ Jesus our Lord, makes me declare this. 32 If I have, as it were, fought “wild beasts” here in Ephesus simply from human motives, what have I gained? But if the dead are not raised to life, then, as the saying goes, “Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we will die.”

Yet the dead are raised to life, and that is what Christians so blatantly celebrate.

Well you do get a little credit for venturing into the Den. However, you get no credit for thinking that I, as well as others, have been ‘indoctrinated,’ to think that of faith, hope, and charity, the greatest of these is charity, is somehow a weakness of intellectual pursuit.

If you had an inkling of WHY a man committed murder in the first place, having no clue what murder even was, you may gain insight into the shedding of blood.

Of course the death of the Lord Jesus Christ was violent. That’s the point. What? You want God to serve you cupcakes and tell you how wonderful you are, while you fabricate alternate realities such as preaching that God’s truth is fiction? Sin isn’t pretty, and Calvary was not a pretty place, and certainly nothing to joke about.

That no Christian is actually able to explain the Crucifixion in anything approaching rational terms is further evidence you are all indoctrinated.

Of course the death of the Lord Jesus Christ was violent.

Of course it was. And based on what happened afterwards, Christians took this as their cue to continue the slaughter in whatever way they deemed fit, including each other and millions of others cultures across the globe …. not least your very own Native Americans.

The scriptures are completely accurate and truthful, and the book has withstood all gripes, insults, and attacks against it, and still to this proves true, by turning people from darkness to light.

I will personally crush such insults, and spit out the bones. I spit out the bones.

It will “have to make answer for?” What does that even mean? Will it have to answer to the mindless machine of evolution you claim to follow? The idea that God’s Word will “have to make answer” is about the most…….drum roll and sorry ColorStorm I can’t help it…moronic thing I have ever heard. Who, or what, will it “make answer” to?

          Wally,
I shut ark down. The insanity is too much to bear. After the remark about faith, hope, and charity, it is pointless to allow such weeds to find good dirt.

I am the gardener today, and these weeds are gone! Invite him to your place if you want.

Muslims, Islam, hypocrites, etc. all distractions. I gave him a chance, but he took the low road.

Works for me friend. I am heading out lately to the local annual street festival. Eat some fatty food and listen to some music. As soon as I get all my guys at work pointed in the right direction. Have a great evening and a glorious Resurrection Day!

Really Ark? LOL. Want to take a trip back a couple of years to see just how patient I have been with you? And thanks for gracing me with your time and patience LOL.You just get your drawers all wadded up when people either don’t convert, or call you on your bullying tactics.

So…did you ever get yourself worked up enough to head over to one of the Muslim blogs and start tromping around like a fool? Of course you did not. Notice that no Christian has made mention of harming you in anyway? But the question remains…why DON”T you rampage around those places like you do on Christian blogs?

Oh, I have been on several Muslim sites.
But like you, I was brought up in a Christian environment and thus , like you am more familiar with the Christian religion.
One can only fight battles on a limited number of fronts Wally.

So, fancy a discussion on some aspect of the Christian religion?
You can even pick the topic, if you fancy?

Dead possums in a bottle brings up quite a visual for me ColorStorm! It’s a good reminder though on the ugliness of evil that pierces a man’s soul and causes him to think murdering others in the name of their God is somehow a virtuous act. The stinking stench of those that defend this in the name of tolerance is just as bad. No, all religions are not equal indeed.

  9. As a Christian I think the joke is awful but that’s what we can expect to hear from a world that has been given over.

Actually though, what bothers me more is when self described experts say things like “God sacrificed Himself to Himself…” or “Jesus did not need to die when He could have just forgiven us instead.”
